Jane and Sandra Ellis
May loved to cook (a skill she had inherited from her mother Lilian).
She went to evening classes to learn cake icing, and this was one of her achievements. Jane’s wedding cake in the design of Wedgewood for the 1978 marriage.
Lilian was a first class knitter and crocheter and loved nothing more than a challenge of something new to make.
Jane writes, “I still have many jackets, jumpers etc. she made for me, including this bedspread made up of 1600 individual small squares in white cotton, hand sewn together for my wedding 40 years ago.
She made this one on one of her visits to us “down south” in between cooking us all many delights of cakes and pastries etc.”
